UK cybercrime laws: criminalizing crime fighters

ZDNet UK analyses how the proposed UK “Computer Misuse Act” could bring the police and innocent IT professionals behind bars. The problem is, that anybody producing a tool that is “likely” to be used in hacking attacks, could be sued. Or in an analogy that Andrew Cormack, chief security adviser for the United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association (UKERNA), suggested to ZDnet: producers of kitchen knives would be sent to prison, because kitchen knives are likely to be used in attacks…
